Spring Break 2013

A few weeks ago I enjoyed my Spring Break. How I loved sleeping in, shopping and catching up with friends, Salt Lake Real and Jazz games, bridal showers, laying out by the pool, pedicures, and lunch dates with Kevin and my dad. As much as I loved having some time off, I was excited to get back to my cute students. Here's to my last few weeks with them!

One of my very best friends, Natalie came into town and I LOVED having her back here. Miss that girl everyday.
Katie, our beautiful bride-to-be's bridal shower.

Training Table and Salt Lake Real game with the Martineaus! :)
Nick is famous on instagram. Look him up. #brooklyandbailey #cutegirlhairstyles. FUNNIEST night. Social media at it's finest.
With Natalie in town, we had to do our traditional Kneaders breakfast with Gracie and Kyrie. So fun to be together and catch up.

Skyroom lunch with my dad and Kevin. It was fun to be on campus again! What a great feeling to walk through the WILK and not feel any stress of classes or tests. Two more days, Kevin!
Kevin was the lucky winner of a #malawimadness contest, and we won a fun night to the Jazz/Nuggets game. We had super great seats and enjoyed a fun night up in Salt Lake.
No big deal.

Cute Maddie Carr and I got to catch up, swap teaching stories, and reminisce about our El. Ed. classes. Love this girl. We missed you Sarah Edwards!

I was lucky enough to have Taryn as my buddy throughout the week. As a fellow teacher on SB, we passed the time by shopping, laying out by the pool, getting pedicures, and finding our new favorite drink, strawberry/banana Orange Julius :)
We finished off the week with Kevin's mission reunion. Fun to see these guys together for one last reunion before we move away. {And hear them sing that mission song... always gets me!}

Kevin's Mission President and wife, the Poulsens. Kevin was so lucky to have these amazing people to watch over him for the two years he was in South Africa. Always a pleasure to see them!

Though we weren't able to be with any of them, check out our adorable nieces and nephews on Easter Sunday. Adorable children and we miss them all!

Girls Weekend in LA

This past weekend I jumped on a plane with my sister-in-law Lauren, to meet up with the rest of the Couch ladies (Gale, Erin, and Kristine) in LA! It was such a quick trip but we had such a great time. We planned our days according to our meals (and snacks) and even squeezed in Disneyland and shopping at LA's finest malls. Already looking forward to our next trip! Here's a quick recap of our weekend.

We started off our weekend with Disneyland!

Loving all the yummy food!

Missing the babies! They are lucky to have such great moms who buy them gifts!

Enjoying our own private concert at Downtown Disney! :)

Meeting new friends and coordinating outfits.

Shopping till you drop has new meaning. Buying new shoes in Nike after a long day of shopping--and waiting for a movie... but that's another story! :)

Thanks for such a fun and hilarious weekend! A special thanks to Gale for planning such a great trip for us all! I'm so grateful to be a part of another wonderful family with an amazing mother-in-law and fabulous sister-in-laws!  Love you all!

Feeling Lucky

For...

I hope you know how much I appreciate you all! As luck would have it, the leprechaun didn't get caught in our trap but he did leave us a sweet treat. Hopefully the leprechaun found you without causing too much trouble!  Happy Belated St. Patrick's Day!

Texans

A big update for the Couch Fam is that we are moving to Houston come summer. Kevin will be working for National Oilwell Varco (NOV) {for all of you who never understood what we were saying :) }
We have so many great memories of our time here in Provo (and teaching in Springville) and are sad to leave such great friends and family close by, but we're looking forward to this next exciting chapter. We already have a sense of Texas Pride and are looking forward to being Rockets, Astros, and Texan fans. We are excited to live in Houston and make it home. So the next time you are leaving for your Caribbean cruise out of Galveston, come stay with us! :)

Birthday Tea Party

To celebrate my grandma's birthday, we had a high-tea party. It was so much fun! Everything was absolutely delicious, just picture perfect, and it was so fun to celebrate the life of this wonderful woman we all love. We're talking all things homemade: wassail, various tea sandwiches, scones, creams, lemon curd, almond tarte, cupcakes, and meringues. We were just wishing Kristine and Rachel could've been there!
Happy Birthday Grandma! We love you!
